These "extra" address bits are made availabk, to enable trie posjtion- ing of tne PSG (assioning a 16 word memory space) in a total l,024 word memory area rather than in a 25r6 word memoryarea as detined by address bits DA7--DAO alone. If the memory size does not require the use ot triese extra address lines they may be lett unconnected as each is provided with either an on-chip pulldown (A or pull-up (A8) resistor. ~n "noisy" environments, howewr, ir l8 recommended that A9 and A8 be tied to an externalground and5V, respectively. it they are not to be used.
