Applications indicate that the minimum holding current is a function of the anode-cathode capacitance placed in parallel with a PNPN element. The form of the variation is shown in Figure 2. When the device is placed in a circuit where active inductance is present, the holding current may be depressed slightly. The values of holding current given in the electrical characteristics table correspond to measurements made with very small anode-cathode capacitance, such as when the device is connected to a curve tracer with short wires.
