General Description The HV09 is a low-voltage serialto high-voltage parallelconverter with push-pull outputs. It is especially suitable for use as a symmetric row d river in AC thin-film electroluminescent (ACTFEL) displays. The HV09 0ffers 32 0utputlines, a direction (DIR) pin to give CW or CCW shift register loading, output enable (OE), and polarity (POL) control. After DATA INPUT is entered (on the falling edge of CLOCK), a logcc high will cause the output to swing to VPP if POL is high, or to GND if POL is low.

Thermal overload protection is designed to protect the MAX8873/MAX8874 in the event of fault conditions. Stressing the device with high load currents and high input-output differential voltages (which result in die tem- peratures above +125aC) may cause a momentary over- shoot (2% t0 8% for 200ms) when the load is completely removed. This can be remedied by raising the minimum load current from OpA (+1250C) t0 100pA (+1500C). For continuous operation, do not exceed the absolute maxi- mum junction temperature rating of TJ = +1500C.

Maximum ratings applied to the device are individual stress limit values (not normal operating conditions) and are not valid simultaneously.
