SI9114ADY SI9114ADY SI9114ADY Datasheet Functional Description The 'AC/'ACT899 has three principal modes of operation which are outlined below. These modes apply to both the A- to-B and B-to-A directions. - Bus A (B) communicates to Bus B (A), parity is generat- ed and passed on to the B (A) Bus as BPAR (APAR). If LEB (LEA) is HIGH and the Mode Select (SEL) is LOW, the parity generated from B[0:7] (A[0:7]) can be checked and monitored by ERRB (ERRA). - Bus A (B) communicates to Bus B (A) in a feed-through mode if SEL is HIGH. Parity is still generated and checked as ERRA and ERRB in the feed-through mode (can be used as an interrupt to signal a data/parity bit error to the CPU). - Independent Latch Enables (LEA and LEB) allow other permutations of generating/checking (see Function Ta- ble below). As in any high speed analog circuitry, the power supply pins are vulnerable to random noise. The ICS84320-01 provides separate power supplies to isolate any high switching noise from the outputs to the internal PLL. Vcc, VCCA, and Vcco should be individually connected to the power supply plane through vias, and bypass capacitors should be used for each pin. To achieve optimum jitter performance, power supply isolation is required. Figure 2 illustrates how a 24Q resistor along with a 10htF and a .Olht.F bypass capacitor should be connected to each VCCA pin. |
